Michael Joyce joined the Texas Business Leadership Council (TBLC) as Vice President for Operations and Outreach in July of 2015. Prior to joining the TBLC, Michael served for five years as the Director of Events at the Texas Public Policy Foundation (TPPF) — a 501c3, non-profit, dedicated to preserving the ideals of limited government, personal responsibility, and entrepreneurship in Texas. Over the course of his seven years, total, at TPPF Michael experienced all facets of the organization from operations to communications, development, and policy.
Under his tenure as Director of Events, Michael has successfully managed several high-profile events and meetings which include TPPF’s annual meeting “Policy Orientation for the Texas Legislature” which focuses on the imperative issues before the state. “Policy Orientation” features some of the country’s most prominent thought leaders like Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, and former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Newt Gingrich. Michael also managed the Texas leg of the Fed Up book tour with Governor Rick Perry, as well as countless other policy primers, summits, and discussions on issues ranging from tax reform to economic freedom.
Michael graduated from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia where he earned a degree in Public Administration, with a concentration in American Government. In 2011 he was chosen, as part of the inaugural class, to be a Liberty@Work Fellow with the Charles G. Koch Institute in Washington, D.C.
Michael, his wife Shana, and son Michael reside on the south side of Austin, Texas.
